1812 James Wilson Celestial globe
Dimitri has taken the painstaking pleasure of transforming this 1812 James Wilson celestial globe into the work of art it was intended to be, through meticulous restoration and conservation practices. He was able to determine the original colors of the celestial figures from the remaining fragments of ink under lit magnification, once the paper was cleaned.
The dry faded wooden stand was treated and French polished.
This globe was later sold at the Heritage Book Shop, Beverly Hills, CA.
